Betchyer bottom dollar...

How old was Annie in the movie? She was about 10, don't you think? Molly was closer to 6...man, that's little, 'cause, y'know, Pepper had to carry her at least 52 blocks on the way to Daddy Warbucks' mansion.

I only ask because I feel so removed from my last experience with 1st graders (back when I did my internship to get my masters)...10 year olds, I feel like I have a pretty good grip on; 6 year olds, not so much...in spite of my field agent's wonderful research efforts.

But, no matter what I know or don't know about 'em, school starts tomorrow...I've written and rewritten three different what-if-driven versions of my plans for the first week...I've read up on early literacy, on-sets and rimes, decoding by analogy, and the DRA - state standards, teacher's editions, curricula: check.

And, as you can tell, I've got a serious case of the first-day jitters. My thoughts are so disjointed

so disjointed

ummm...

yeah.

And that is why teachers write lesson plans.
