blargity blog

Ooh...I just rememberd another detail:

In December, we had a school "sing-a-long."

sing-a-long

think-a-loud

where will it end?

These are the people supporting me in my effort to teach my students "to look back in the text when they realize that they don't know the answer," (this, my dears, is the "essense of metacognition.")

Hmmm...I would have thought that realizing you don't know the answer was closer to being the "essense of metacognition."

This is why I need their constant support, I suppose.

It is so hard to know when you don't know. My biggest mistakes have come when I knew I was right.

now, see, that qualifies as a word (or two) of wisdom...would that the almighty up'n'ups of our district could muster up something similar.
